McFarlane Rocks Out to Guitar Hero
New collectible line coming from Spawn creator.
by Richard George
June 26, 2008 - You've seen the countless spin-offs, sequels and peripherals. You've seen the game become the new "hot topic" amongst those who have never played a game in their life. You've seen the masses of teens huddled around the demo kiosk at Best Buy and GameStop.

But you haven't seen collectibles, at least not until this Fall.

Today McFarlane Toys announced it has entered in a licensing agreement with Activision to produce collectible figures based on the blockbuster Guitar Hero franchise. Four figures will be in the first wave of toys: Johnny Napalm, Axel Steel, Lars Umlaut and the God of Rock.

Known for its highly-detailed sculpts, McFarlane Toys will also be providing articulation for these figures. Each will have approximately 15-18 movable segments. The company also mentioned that unique guitars come with each character/rock star, and that those guitars are interchangeable. Each collectible also comes with a Guitar Hero base. Standing at six inches each, the MSRP is estimated to be $10 to $15.

Buy your own god.

McFarlane provided IGN with an exclusive first look at the God of Rock. To find the other figures, check out Spawn.com.
